1. Le Nordik Spa-Nature

Tucked away in the heart of Chelsea lies a hidden gem that provides the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life – The Nordik Spa. It’s regarded as a very extensive spa, spanning a huge area and offering many unique and rejuvenating services. It’s one of my all-time favourites.

The spa has a wide range of treatments and facilities, from traditional massages to thermal baths, saunas, and hot tubs. It’s also famed for its Källa treatment, where guests can float in a carbonated saltwater pool, known for its mineral-rich and therapeutic properties in a dungeon like room. Quite fascinating and unique.

For a day-long retreat, opt for the Thermal Experience package, which includes access to the baths, saunas, and relaxation areas. For a more luxurious experience, the Nordic Cycle complete package comes with a full day of relaxation, a massage, and a gourmet meal.

Oh and if you’re there when it’s cold, definitely try the heated hammocks!

2. Great Canadian Bungee

The Great Canadian Bungee, located in Chelsea’s Morrison’s Quarry, is often considered one of the best attractions in the area for thrill seekers.

The experience involves jumping off a 200-foot platform and free-falling towards a pristine turquoise quarry below. It’s the ultimate adrenaline rush, and it’s easy to see why anyone visiting Chelsea must add this to their list of things to do. In addition to the thrilling jump, visitors can also enjoy the beautiful scenery. The pristine waters and beach area are perfect for a post-jump swim or a relaxing picnic. The Great Canadian Bungee has various packages to cater to different needs and budgets.

3. Village Dunnd’s

This unique outdoor attraction is packed with various activities and entertainment for all ages, making it the perfect destination for a family day trip.

This mini amusement park has plenty of games to play, a massive trampoline, mini-golf, and a huge jungle gym. While there is not much for parents to do, the kids will be busy for hours and drain all their energy, making for a nice, quiet ride home.

Before leaving Village Dunnd’s, visit the crèmerie and indulge in one of their ice cream snacks. With different ice creams, cones, and milkshakes, it’s a great way to wrap up a fun-filled sunny afternoon.

4. Carbide Willson Ruins, One of the Best Things to Do in Chelsea

The ruins are a mix of abandoned factory buildings, machinery, and pipes overgrown with nature. This former carbide production plant, built in the late 1800s, was once one of the largest producers of industrial carbide in North America. Today, it stands as a tribute to its past and a reminder of the town’s industrial roots.

The operational hours for the ruins vary depending on the time of year. Visitors can still explore the site any time of the year if they respect the safety guidelines and do not disturb the ruins.

Visiting the Carbide Willson Ruins is completely free. There is no cost to enter the site, making it an affordable and budget-friendly activity while visiting Chelsea.

5. Enjoy Gatineau Park

Gatineau Park is a vast and beautiful natural area with a plethora of activities. Hiking is one of the park’s staples, with over 165 kilometres/102 miles of marked trails to explore year-round.

In the winter, Gatineau Park is transformed into a winter wonderland, offering various activities such as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and winter hiking. Visitors can rent cross-country skis and snowshoes at the park, and trail access is a small cost during the winter season.

Our recommendation: try your hand at nocturnal snowshoeing!

For those seeking a more leisurely experience, the park has several picnic areas with peaceful and scenic settings. The operating hours vary depending on the season, but the visitor centre is open year-round for information, maps, and restrooms.
